As the city is right next to the sea you can quickly realise that if you are a seafood lover you couldn’t pick a better place to spend your time. There are many local eating places that offer freshly caught fish and seafood dishes that taste out of this world.
If you want to really spoil your other half and treat them to a meal they shall never forget, then head out to etch on Church Road, Brighton & Hove for an absolutely amazing treat of either a six- or eight-course tasting menu that positively zing with flavour and use an unusual combination of ingredients not found anywhere else. Run by Masterchef winner Steven Edwards, you will be in for a very memorable Valentine’s Day celebratory meal. (Book early though as spaces quickly book up for Valentine’s Day).
WHAT TO DO FOR YOUR VALENTINES WEEKEND AWAY
Start your morning off walking hand in hand with your loved one as you explore the many boho and indie shops that make up North Laine. There are lots of small, independent boutique shops that sell everything from kitsch and retro Sixties-style goods to hand-crafted one-off pieces of jewellery and craft items not found anywhere else in the country.
When you are feeling peckish, you can choose to grab some food from some of the most popular eating places in town. Look for Cin Cin Italian Bar & Kitchen on Vine Street if you fancy some of the most authentic tasting pasta in the city. You may have to queue for your food as this place is so popular, but if you don’t fancy the wait then head to Queens Road for some amazing street food at the Street Diner in Brighthelm Gardens.
AN AFTERNOON ON BRIGHTON BEACH
How can you stay in Brighton without paying a visit to its famous beach and seafront! It doesn’t matter if the weather is blowing a gale, your romantic stroll won’t get ruined by getting sand in your eyes. Brighton is well known for its pebbly beach and dramatic waves. You can experience some amazing views over Brighton and over towards the South Downs. Lookout towards the rugged Seven Sisters cliffs for a moody shot with the swirling seas.
