The Queens Hotel is one of the best hotels in Brighton in terms of its location within the city of Brighton and Hove. It is based on the seafront with a view of the sea, the pier and the new i360. If you are thinking of staying with us and it is your first time in Brighton, we can provide you with a few ideas to start off your sightseeing around the seaside city.
The Palace Pier, now named the Brighton Pier, is located just a three minute walk down the seafront from the Queens Hotel. Construction on the pier started in 1881 but wasn't completed until 1899.
The pier has something for everyone, with amusement rides and arcades, restaurants and multiple kiosks, each serving a range of hot and cold beverages, and food such as donuts, waffles and fish and chips. It has everything you and your family need to enjoy a day out at the seaside.
Sea Life Centre
The Sea Life Centre is another of the must see attractions not far from the Queens Hotel. Located on Marine Parade it is a five minute walk from your hotel room. It houses a range of marine life as well as its newer rainforest area with piranha and the world's largest species of snake. You can view stingrays, and walk through a tunnel underneath a tank with sharks and sea turtles. You can listen to talks and watch live feeding sessions as well as learning about the part you can play in the conservation of these sea creatures.
British Airways i360
The i360 started being built in 2014 and was completed in August 2016. It is the world’s tallest moving observation tower and takes passengers who ride it, up the full 162 metres length in its glass pod that circles the entire structure. Once in the air you can see views such as the South Downs and the Isle of Wight.
Another attraction that the Queens Hotel Brighton is close to, as one of the best hotels in Brighton for location, is the Royal Pavilion.
The Royal Pavilion was built for King George IV, when he became Prince Regent. It is a five minute walk from the Queens Hotel. As well as being able to take a tour within the pavilion itself to see the decor, furniture and style that reflects the era, you can also enjoy the spacious grounds of the Pavilion garden.
Brighton Museum and Art Gallery
Across from the Pavilion itself, is the Brighton Museum and Arts Gallery. Originally located in a number of rooms on the upper floor of the pavilion, it soon outgrew the space it was given and so arrangements were made to build one of the first ever purpose built museums in England in the place of the stables in the Pavilion Gardens. The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery features a range of exhibitions that visitors can come and view, some with interactive elements.
These are just a few of the many places of interest that Brighton can offer its visitors and that are within easy reach from the Queens Hotel itself.
